cox wrote: Mon Mar 11, 2019 10:55 am Hi, love this initiative:-)

I see that http://libregraphicsworld.org has gotten back up with weekly updates after being a bit irregular. Might it be a good idea to sync updates as a weekly recap, that news sites like this can reference and follow?
Thanks! That's not a bad idea. But culling the activities for the week (feature requests / bug squashes) seems a bit daunting to me ATM. I'm willing to explore it though if we can come up with something that I can keep up with. :)

I wouldn't mind writing up a post or something that can be picked up by LibreGraphics or others (I see that they covered @kkremitzki's latest blog update), but that seems like we need to start a FreeCAD blog. Though, much of it could be cross-posted content from Kurt and Yorik. :)
I saw a similar initiative in a subforum ("Thread to summarise news of FreeCAD development"):
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 9&start=60

English version (Google Translate):

It is not thorough and it has not been updated for a while now, but if you more or less browse back, you see a history of development, and I think it is a very useful initiative.

Whatever the form it may take, it might be worth teaming up with our wonderful multilingual gurus and synchronising content, so that a same "news stream" is consistently spread into the different languages (let it be into subforums or otherwise). It should be possible to share content (e.g. screenshots). Depending on the way it is organised.

Going the extra mile, it might make sense to post the information to google plus, maybe other social networks too, so that there is an ongoing exposure of development. So in other words use it for marketing.

I'll take a closer look and see what I can make of it. Thanks for the link.

And yes, marketing is exactly what I was thinking, too. Aggregators like LibreGraphicsWorld would benefit if we can provide a more comprehensive link and media-friendly 'blurb' that they can scrape (or however that stuff works... I'm not a PR guy...).

No, it wouldn't, Google Plus is shutting down on April 2nd. It's been known for months so I completely stopped participating to the FreeCAD community of which I'm a moderator.
