Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
Is it time for a 0.18.5 tag?
Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
Will this be the last one for FreeCAD 0.18?
P.S. If yes, then i guess we could do it around March, for any last changes, and after to focus on FreeCAD 0.19 release in April.

Patch can get removed, as if the situation will improve in any future Qt version, that won't affect FreeCAD 0.18 AppImage anymore.looo wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 11:41 amadded:triplus wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2019 12:28 am P.S. Just wondering, how hard would it be to create a Conda Linux FreeCAD 0.18.4 test package, containing this code changes:
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob ... istant.cpp

If it doesn't work we can move back to the origin 0.18.4 build.

Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
I somehow missed the sticky thread with the big banner. Shame on me.
I would like to have a point release made 0.18.6 before release of 0.19.
Currently there is one commit by Yorik in December in the 0.18 branch after 0.18.5 release, and I would like to have this:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=54966
The reason is so that people running 0.18 will have a pop-up notifying errors during restore of projects containing sketches made with 0.19.

Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
I am not sure that this will really help, but it won't do any harm either: people installing this new version may be just those who are aware of the issue, and won't save new files with old versions. So we shouldn't expect too much from this update. I still see that most 0.18 users still use 0.18.4.

Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
The commit is in.
Who has done or is doing the point releases? How do we trigger the process to make 0.18.6?

Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
I can tag it and create the release.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to create binaries for 0.18.5, so there won't be binaries for 0.18.6 either.
The tag should allow distro managers to update if 0.18 will still build on that distro.
The stable PPA for example, but this will be soon superseded by 0.19, when released.

Oh, I see.sgrogan wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 5:27 pmI can tag it and create the release.

The idea was for those who directly download or will get 0.18 thru distro (because distro will not get the new 0.19). So basically for somebody that has a strong interest in remaining in 0.18. Then I am not sure it will have the intended impact...
What do you think Kurt? Would making 0.18.6 have a meaningful impact once 0.19 is released, if 0.19 is released in time for Debian?
Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch
I created an 0.18.6 release. At least it will be there if we can back fill it later.
