[completed] Release notes for FreeCAD 0.20

Post by uwestoehr »

This is the forum thread for new 0.20 features.

Here is the Wiki page for the release notes: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Release_notes_0.20

We already have the first one: the hole dialog allows now to model real threads. Implemented via PR https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4274

I've submitted a PR to update the link to this forum thread in the pull request template as well: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4781

Edit: It was merged

We currently have a situation where images from the command reference are sometimes used in the release notes of a version. IMO that is not a good idea. Editors are not aware of this and can by uploading a new image (with the same name) inadvertently mess with the accuracy of those release notes.

To prevent this I'd like to propose that we add a suffix to the names of the images used on the Release_notes_0.20 page. And to then of course only use the images on this page.

Maybe?:

Please add to Mesh Never mind I just discovered I actually had edit access for quite a while:

It appears you don't understand the difference between Release Notes and Wish List...

It appears not up to date?

The recent Draft Hatch tool, IE, made by Yorik, it's not present in the list.
After #ElonMuskBuyTwitter I'm no more on Twitter, that's really enough :-(

What is the policy, if any, regarding bug fixes? Do some, or all, of them deserve a mention in the Release notes?
