Re: Drawing dimensioning workbench for FreeCAD v0.15
Has anyone else noticed a bug with the Escape Dimensioning function? I just made not of it in the github repo, but was wondering if it's just me or are others seeing it.
Steps to reproduce -
Create a dimension. Start to create a second dimension and escape it using the Escape Dimensioning function. Add a new dimension. Attempting to add the new dimension after the Esc function produces an error and no further dimensions can be added without closing FreeCAD and restarting the session.

I get the same thing in
OS: Windows 7
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit

I made a fresh pull from Hammish's Git Repo before I tried it.
If I use the ESC key instead of the ESC Dimensioning Tool It works as expected.
After using the ESC Dimensioning tool. If I try a second time to add a dimension after the first unsuccessful attempt the vertices are shifted but I still cannot add a dimension.

Thanks guys, good to know it's not just me.
In the mean time, a big thanks to crobar for the notation indicator. Working as expected. And a continued thanks to hamish for making this plugin available.

Re: Drawing dimensioning workbench for FreeCAD v0.15
there are already some bugs reported in the git
https://github.com/hamish2014/FreeCAD_d ... ing/issues
I think it makes sense to collect the information there, its easier to have all on one place.
I have seen the missplacement of the green dots in the case of drawing center lines
and sometimes the complete freecad crashes when I draw the second or third line.

Re: Drawing dimensioning workbench for FreeCAD v0.15
Hi everybody,
first of all, thank you very much for sharing such a good software. I am using it regularly to do fast prototyping in my R&D work. Usually I don't have problem, but I wanted to try the dimensioning workbench. I follow the instruction but I get an error when I select the workbench.
I usually don't have problem to follow the installation instruction, bur I am far to be a code developer and I couldn't fix it by myself.
Some precision:
OS: Windows XP
Word size of OS: 32-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 32-bit
Version: 0.15.4527 (Git)
Branch: master
Hash: 0da2e4c45a9a259c26abd54c2a35393e1c15696f
Python version: 2.7.8
Qt version: 4.8.6
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 6.7.1
Moreover, I don't have administrator right and I cannot do anything for that, the administrator of the company being not flexible at all.
I would be glad if I can have some help to fix that.
Thanks!
PS: by the way, I have exactly the same error with the Assembly2 workbench

Re: Drawing dimensioning workbench for FreeCAD v0.15
MS has dropped support for Winxp some time ago....hence no more security updates. You really should not be using it any more, particularly on a machine connected to the Internet.
The cheapest and easiest solution is to just install a Ubuntu Linux LTS version (currently 14.04) or a popular Ubuntu variant like Kubuntu (uses KDE for the GUI).

Re: Drawing dimensioning workbench for FreeCAD v0.15
It is my work computer... and I know very well that MS stopped the support for WinXP... I don't have choice .
I could install it on my personal computer but I already spend to much time at work and I don't want to put "work related things" on my home computer... home time is for the family, not to do CAD .
I hope hope somebody can help me to find a solution... even if it is to deal with WinXP...

Hello,
this seems like a numpy problem. To verify please type this into your python console:
If this also fails you need to check how you installed numpy (it does not come with freecad). You need to make sure you installed a numpy version which was build for the same python version as freecad. For example numpy for python 3 will crash when loaded from python 2.7 in your Freecad version
