when I first started using FC about 2y ago, the distro packaged versions were way behind master and many things did not work and constantly crashed.
To benefit from even reasonably recent fixes I needed to build from source. Having taken the considerable effort that involved, I tend to stick with it.
I've also contributed a number of PRs which requires a current master build.
Things got even more complicated last summer when py2 incompatible changes were made to parts of path WB pre-empting the declared end of py2 support. This was a particular problem with Fedora packages.
All has fallen back into place with the fresh pull , at least on that end of the clamp, without the need to delete the paths
Thanks for your input.
