Keep tool down

The very recent changes to the pocket operation that better support the "keep tool down" option seem to be quite effective.

The Kangaroo Mode (tm) has been significantly tamed.

Yes! Very cool. I only find it a little strange that it's something that's buried deep inside the Combo window and not directly accessible when defining the operation.

OK i'm on 0.17.12920 now but "keep tool down" shows still some strange movements.

The pic shows still some up and downs and, much more critically, some pathes thru material which should not be removed.

I know, if i make each pocket as its own, i downt gave the prob with the not wanted cuts, but then i have to remove the entire moves to the "0 point" of the machine if i wont to save that machine time.

Hi Herb,
I think I've got a way to get what you want done--or at least to address most of it. I mocked up a similar model to yours--estimated based on your pictures. I've added Ops to accomplish what I think you are doing. I think it resolves the remainder you mention. Hope it is helpful.

thx, but i want to show that the option "keep tool down" ignores higher segments between two or more pockets, if more then one pocket is selcted for one operation.
"Keep tool down" is a very effective tool to save machine time, because It's not necessary to lift the endmill for a step over.

Of course Herb--I thought you'd also mentioned--perhaps in Simulation thread--that you were also displeased with leftovers around those cuts.

The default lifts between concentric passes has surprised me because previously I used a 2.5D CAM which by default moved outward/inward without lifting.
