Latest Version?

Postby JohnForeman » Tue Dec 19, 2017 1:45 pm

HI Everyone.
I'm new to FreeCad and new to using GitHub also. I'm a long time CATIA user and dabble in CAD/CAM (taig cnc mill in the garage). So anyway, i was looking to use FreeCad to generate some gcode. I can see there are a lot of changes from .16 to .17 but i'm also seeing that the version of .17 that i downloaded still doesn't match the menu look that i'm seeing on the most recent youtube videos for the Path module.
I'm running
OS: Windows 7
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.17.12847 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: master
Hash: 4034851a5d2ed5c93a8ebedbf0ef40dab8700d94
Python version: 2.7.8
Qt version: 4.8.7
Coin version: 4.0.0a
OCC version: 7.1.0
Locale: English/UnitedStates (en_US)

with a build date of 2016/12/16
Is there a separate something i need to DL to get the latest path developments?
I'm currently interested in the sliptonic fork as that's who i'm using for youtube tutorials.
Thanks
-John

Even the 'preview' videos are now quite dated. Based on your git commit number, It looks like you've got close to the latest version.

The menus and toolbars have rearranged a little bit but most of the big concepts are still true.
