Hello there,
I just started using Path module in FreeCAD v 0.17 and I immediately got a problem.
I wanted to put my origin into left upper corner of extend model's bound box
everything seems to be okay
as long as I dont click okay button in operation - position of origin or my .stp block is being moved to a random distant point.
Why does it happen? Is it my fault or maybe it's a bug that happens in FreeCAD?
Problem with option set origin

Re: Problem with option set origin
What you're seeing is normal.
When you set the origin or orientation of a base object, you're changing its placement and/or rotation. This would screw up your model so Path makes a clone of the original object to use as the base object of the Job and stores the placement of the clone. The base object clone is hidden unless you're editing an operation or the Job itself. When you close the operation, the base object clone is hidden and the visibility of the original is restored.
This takes a little getting used to but makes sense. You can manually toggle the visibility of the clone in the tree if you wish.
BTW, it's good practice to include your FreeCAD info and attach a model to get support.
