Re: Waterline milling update
Hello everybody,
just a question: so, at the moment, there is no way to mill a conical surface with the Path workbench, I'm right?
(Apart from manually generating dozens of sections, and then milling them one by one.)
BTW: the waterline algorithm will be included in the next 0.19 version?

Re: Waterline milling update
You can get pretty close with a 3D pocket.
Choose the offset pattern

Re: Waterline milling update
Today I was running waterline on a positive half sphere and ran into a pretty difficult issue.
The Layered option works well, unfortunately it means the step-over isn't constant. This leads into an issue with the finish.
Is it possible that the waterline milling might have an option to keep stepover constant?

Re: Waterline milling update
You can very well use Path 3DPocket:

Re: Waterline milling update
Please make sure that you use the latest 0.19 and add your FreeCAD infos.

Re: Waterline milling update
I can confirm the inside path. It could be avoided if finals depth was editable.
For a workaround you are lucky that we have discussed this recently and I made several tests: You can use a Boundary dress-up: Besides I used KeepToolDown to tidy the paths.

Re: Waterline milling update
I cannot find any "Boundary dress-up" in Path menu of my 0.18.4 version. All I see are the usual "Dogbone dressup", "Tag dressup", etc.
I'm missing something?

It's only in 0.19: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/rele ... g/0.19_preGiulio Buccini wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 11:46 pm I cannot find any "Boundary dress-up" in Path menu of my 0.18.4 version. All I see are the usual "Dogbone dressup", "Tag dressup", etc.
