Looking at the FreeCad I can see it's missing anything on adaptive path
https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Path_Workbench
I got as far as discovering this thread (29 pages worth ) https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... &start=280
which lead to this page:
https://github.com/kreso-t/FreeCAD_Mod_Adaptive_Path
tbh not clear how that all ties in with the button labeled "adaptive clearing and profiling" on the daily path WB
if it is the doco and this feature is still under active development then maybe just a stub that says as much???
soz another ignorant question
request for wiki page for addaptive

Re: request for wiki page for addaptive
this little journey brought to you by my utter ignorance of what an adaptive path is...
which I now believe is "toolpaths while keeping the constant material removal rate throughout the cut"... which does sound useful!

Re: request for wiki page for addaptive
That's a mostly accurate summary. To be pedantic, it's probably trying to manage cutter engagement rather than material removal rate but those two are almost identical in practice. It's also not keeping it constant but it's ensuring that engagement never exceeds a maximum. Engagement can often be less than maximum but not more.

Wiki page initiated, but is INCOMPLETE and needs updating with information on the Path Adaptive operation. I copied Path 3D Surface and Path Drilling to get the page started.

I've added the above refinement to Russ's initial page https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.p ... did=494987
Re: request for wiki page for addaptive
I've updated the 'Properties' section, along with the 'Task Window Editor Layout' section.
The 'Description' section might benefit from some more information about the tool. A good sample image would be nice to accommodate this section.
The 'Usage' section has a basic outline of sorts, but it needs some details from someone familiar with the tool and its various properties/settings. Progressive images of usage steps would help if available.
