Path WB: G17/G18/G19 feature request (or show me where it is).

Post by liutas4x4 »

Hi,

The very first stop is to say a Big TNX for G54...G59.X!
It is the really big deal.

But. The means of WCS are not working in full power without changing orientations (I mean there fixtures).
Let's continue on sample:

As you see, as minimum as 4 ops required: contour+pocket, T-sloting, drills+counterbores, cutting of a stock from other side.
While first and last operations easily fits to WCS without orientation change and can/should/may to be processed in G17+G54+G55, the second and third op with drilling requires coordinate system rotation.

Creating new Job for new (ongoing) fixture is obvious. But my machine has ability to save me there and omit the second and third fixtures.

Cheers,
Eugenijus.

Do you mean you have a 5 axis machine?

Then the answer is no. 3 or 3+1 only.

Wait...

... You have a 9 axis CNC machine and you set your offsets with paper?

Can you be more detailed?

FreeCAD can currently only do 3/4 axis work. There is no functionality for setting a dynamic WCS like you're asking.
