FreezeCad... Gcode export (postprocessing) freezes Freecad

Post by siecieh »

Hey guys,

Does anyone have similar issues on trying to export a perfectly fine gcode file?

Even on simple geometry, with all the simulation steps working fine and a perfect model, my freecad (on both versions 18 and 19) freezes and needs to be forced-shut down.. The more complex model/CAM operations the more issues pop up.

This is happening on Windows 10, more than capable new PC.
Tried different postprocessing options and file formats.. Not a pro though.
Please advise. Cheers.

The options are:

1. You need to select the system you plan to use for machine control. GRBL, LinuxCNC, etc. Nobody else knows what you need.

2. G54 is fine for most folks. If you do not already understand machine coordinate systems just leave the default of G54

3. Again, this is mostly for advanced users. The default is fine.

If you want help with the freeze problem you will need to add a file (FCStd) that shows the problem. I have created thousands of gcode files without freezing, as have many other users.

Finally, please include your FreeCAD "Help - About" information.

No freezing here. If it all of a sudden freezes in 0.18 and didn't before: You can try to reset the configuration with the button in the preferences. Another possibility is to delete your config files or to move them in case you want to restore them.
