part larger than cutting area, how to plot?

Post by xf3qc »

Red = cut needed
green = part to be made
"blue" = cnc work area

Short of making a small pocket to simulate profile edge, is there a way to plot like this?

so the way I do it now, is to make a sketch around part and plot PathSHape OP.

is there a way to set number of z step downs on PathShape?

I'm not sure what you mean by "plot". Is it like milling without tool radius compensation? Then you can use a Profile operation and uncheck "Use Compensation".

This may be another option to what I gather you are trying to achieve. You could be able to process the job as a number of smaller tile jobs.
