Path counterclockwise for engraving?
Hi all,
when selecting the segments/arcs for an engraving operation, Freecad-Path always generate toolpath in the clockwise direction, no matter what I do to convince him to go in the counterclockwise direction instead:
Any idea how I could reverse the path direction?
P.S.
I already tried to select the edges one by one in counterclockwise direction, as well as directly drawing the edges counterclockwise by using the sketch editor.

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
A preferably very simple file showing the issue helps the helpers to fiddle with the options. I would start trying to move the start point.

Here the sketch I used for testing.
(Open or closed path exhibits the same behaviour.)

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
It has a start vertex instead - which does rather fancy things if the path is not closed:

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
I do not understand... choosing a different start-vertex works for closed paths instead?
(AFAIR, I tried this trick and was not working for open or closed paths both.)

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
Setting the start vertex for closed loops works perfectly here.

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
Hi Chris,
for me doesn't work. I've set the start vertex at #8, but the path direction is still clockwise, not counterclockwise.

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
You have 8 vertices, and the default is 0, thus the last would be 7.

Re: Path counterclockwise for engraving?
Just curious. What's the use case here? For an on-line operation like engraving climb/conventional is irrelevant. Why does the path need to go a specific direction?
