Halfpipe becomes a bathtub in PATH 3D pocket

Post by Mooney542 »

Can't figure out how to Path this. When I run 3D path on a 6mm ball mill, I don't get a channel running clear through the part. Rather I get a "bathtub" with the two ends of the halfpipe closed. I need a milling profile to extend beyond the end of the pipes so the ends are cleared. I tried running this on the actual milling machine assuming the simulation program is not displaying properly, but apparently it is. I can't get a clean cut all the way through.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I don't think than 3DPocket can do that. Try 3DSurface with boundary adjustment set to 3mm (=diameter/2).
