Really simple question

New to this so probably a very easy one to answer. Trying to make a 45 deg. overlap joint on my CNC router. I cannot figure out how get path to cut the stock. Tried using a pocket with extensions, also tried surface. I can get close but I am sure I have just missed something simple. I end up with either the corners not getting routed, or bits left in the middle.

Now got it working on 0.20.

Still something odd going on. Zigzag and line cuts work as expected

But Sprial cut leaves waste in the middle

Anyhow - I will continue my journey of discovery - big thank you to the developers here.

You need to reduce the stepover. When set at 100% of the tool diameter there will always be uncut areas for anything but the simplest retangular shapes.

It also appears that the extension is too small. For these pointed corners a full tool diameter is needed, not the default half-diameter.

Subject is now not helpful - I will open a new post.

Having played around I am now convinced there is a bug in spiral pocket path with extensions. See new post for more details.

A bunch of the patterns on pocket are really almost useless. I think we should disable all but the simplest ones. For a something like this, you really don't want a true spiral anyway. You want an adaptive. I would suggest trying the Adaptive operation with extension.
