There is a file created in the main SPOOLES (or ARPACK?) directory with the name of the architecture in the file name. Change the architecture part (x86_64 or Linux) to opposite. I mean if its Some_name_x86_64_something_else change it to Some_name_Linux_something_else, it it's Linux change it to x86_64. I'm sorry for being so vague, but I don't have access to my linux box right now.

There are no such files in these directories (I did a find -iname *linux* and a find -iname *x64* in each directory).

The only thing looking like this is a libarpack_mac.a which would probably be a libarpack_sun4.a if I let the original parameters in ARmake.inc from Arpack.

That's the file, but I'm afraid renaming it won't work. You're hitting mac specific problems now, so I won't be able to help.

I got Calculix running. I redid all the steps from the manual and it built so I probably missed something the first time.

I managed to get a calculation running on freecad but I can't see the result? How do I display them?

Edit: I found out. The mesh needs to be displayed (which makes sense...)

I now have a running FEM workbench, yay!

Wow, on which OSX does this binary runs? Would you provide this binary? We gone provide CalculiX for (Linux) ubuntu and Windows. Would be cool if we could provide a binary for OSX as well. May be peterl94 should get involved?

It runs on Mac OSX 10.9.5. I can provide the binary if needed. I don't know if that needs to be in a package or something like that, but if not, my binary is available for testing.

Glad to hear you got it working, frabice! I admit I've kinda been putting off looking into the FEM stuff on OS X, partly because I know nothing about it. I will try writing a Homebrew formula for CalculiX when I get the chance.

frabice, have you gotten Netgen to work on OS X? Last time I tried, I think I got Netgen its self to compile, but not the FreeCAD Netgen support.
