In the first implementation a vtkcylinder with a small radius was used to approximate a line. The problem was that this particular cylinder was dependent on the mesh quality (this is the same issue with the sphere) and in directions that did not have enough nodes, it was not able to clip data.ickby wrote: 1. After reviewing the Paraview implementation of the "Data along Line filter", then it was decided to use the vtkprobefilter and vtklinesource to interpolate the results along a user defined line.
The reason the "Select Points" button was added was to make it easier for the user to select the points on the geometry with which the line is to drawn.ickby wrote: 2.
