Gmsh 4 package available for testing in Community Extras PPA
Hi, I posted this in Open Discussion but figured I might post here as well in case people don't see it there.
In the FreeCAD Community Extras PPA (https://launchpad.net/~freecad-communit ... ubuntu/ppa) I have uploaded a Gmsh 4 package. Unfortunately it only works on Ubuntu 18.04 because of a dependency. I gave it a very brief test and it seemed to run a little slower. I'd appreciate any feedback you all have on the package. Thank you!

wow cool!
Kurt do you know which package would be very very useful to have. The main FreeCAD FEM solver Calculix ccx has not been updated in Debian for a while. It is on 2.11 but 2.14 has been released. Since CalculiX gets steady improvements and fixes we miss a lot already. See https://packages.debian.org/search?suit ... lculix-ccx

Hah, but I don't mind, I'm already nearly done with the update. Updating from, say, 2.11->2.14 generally is not too bad, but for example this Gmsh 3->4 upgrade was quite tricky.

I just uploaded the 2.14 build for Bionic, time to see how it and the other releases proceed.

Alright, the builds went off without a hitch, so it's now available for Bionic, Xenial, and Trusty. I couldn't find a complete changelog but here's the 2.13->2.14 changes: http://www.dhondt.de/new_calc.htm
