Hello I haven't found a similar problem and not too much information regarding FEM in FreeCad. I want to make an analysis based on a model designed in Sketchup, so I followed this steps:
1- Export model to STL file
2- Import model into GMSH and convert to INP file
3- Open FreeCad and create a new file
4- Import the new INP model into the FEM workbench
5- Create the Analysis and SolidMaterial
Here is where I get stuck, and I don't know what else to do; the moment I select a FEM constraint for a fixed... the model disappears. Any other force and it also disappears.
Is there any reliable way to get a model to FreeCad for FEM analysis? I don't want to make the model again in FreeCad...
Best, Felipe.
PS: Sorry for bad english if so.

Re: Problem with model import into FEM analysis
Your'e problem is because of the way the FEM workbench work...
The fem workbench is only able set constraints on solid material and not nodes (read meshes).
The most easy workflow for you is to import to stl file. go to the part workbench and that convert mesh to solid.

If it is a simple model it don't that that long. otherwise you have to be patient or re do the work in FreeCAD...

+1 to Jee-Bee
@felx325
if you would post an example stl we may help you to set up an analysis.

Re: Problem with model import into FEM analysis
Couldn't make it work so finally I'll design the model again in FreeCad as tedious as it will be.
Thanks anyways! Best, Phil.
