I don’t have access to my computer. Will send as soon as I can. However, I don’t think the VTK is the problem, but rather your glyph filter settings. There are a few places you need to check: the type (chose line), the source (=PSV3Vector for compression), the scaling (press the rescaling icon to the right of the scale factor, the locations (choose all points) and the color (whatever you like).

Set the Representation for TestCubePrincipalStress.vtk to Wireframe and take the glyph settings as in the picture. Pay attention to the following parameters:

Glyph Source
Orientation
Scale
Masking

And looking at your concrete example, I think scale and orientation are not selected correctly.

mhh my glyph properties look totally different from yours ... I have paraview 5.4.1 on Debian Buster ...

ok I get your picture, but not because I know what I am doing but because I pressed buttons as long until the picture looks like yours ...

Great, that’s how I learnt using Paraview :D

By the way, I use the latest Paraview binary from the Kitware web site, 5.6.0 to be precise.

By the way, if you press the gear wheel near the top of the property box you get to see more options. Then your property screen will most likely look the same as mine.
