Big deformations ?

Post by amka »

Hi,

It seems that it's no big deformations in freecad fem solver, isn't it ? I only want to be sure I have to use salome-meca by example for that.

Best regards,

amka

What exactly do you mean by big deformations? Calculix supports geometric nonlinear analysis. They can be triggered from within FreeCAD too. Just have a look at all the Calculix solver parameter in solver object.

according to https://feacompare.com/ both calculix and Code_Aster/Salome-Meca should be able to handle large displacements.

Enable non-linear geometry in ccx solver option for large deformations in Calculix
