I finally got around to writing a tutorial (work in progress):

harry this will help me a lot! I really need this but never have the time to lern all this in paraview myself. Very well done!

Will you do the integral stuff as well?
Hi Bernd, integration over the full VTK object is already covered. I will also cover integration over a slice (to show how to reinforce a cross section of a beam) and integration over a line (to show how to reinforce a wall). However, for the the last one I want to use a 2D case (most likely the CIB example).

I still want to do an example of reinforcing a massive concrete structure and how to treat that with FC and PV, but that will come later. It would be nice to have a practical design case to work with. Do you have one from your day job?

what kind of structure? A beam, a wall, a slab, a foundation, a column?

Something bulky (truly 3D) so a foundation, I guess.

I have updated the Tutorial with two sections, one about integration over a slice and the other about visualization and integration along a line.

The latter section uses the following example:
