I have been trying to develop a parametric model of this frame as discussed above. I have progressed quite well with the spreadsheet but I am struggling to get the model sorted out.
I have been trying to create datum planes on each face of the model offset from the face by 2.5mm (Hinge Offset in spreadsheet) from each of the faces. (If the offset needs increasing or decreasing this can be done from the spreadsheet).
I then want to sketch a circle on the relevant faces from which I can pad a chord, strut, or plan brace, based on the data taken from the spreadsheet which will provide the pad length.
I then want to create hinges between each component and their corresponding faces.
If I can produce each of these components and features I am hoping I can then construct the frame using the array tools in the draft workbench.
After watching numerous tutorials and many attempts I can get the “node” body to increase or decrease in size but I can’t get the datum planes to move in unison or I can’t offset them because they are stuck to the faces, or I can’t offset the sketches from the datum planes.
First question - will this approach work. If no it’s back to the drawing board
