It should work if you use Part BooleanFragments or Part Fuse instead of Part Compound.

Do it without scripting first, record a macro and check its contents. This can help you modify your script. Also, the wiki page for the Boolean Fragments tool features a scripting section with necessary commands.

Yeah, I also don't like this approach. Forums are meant to be used by other people for reference in the future.
