mesh a model help

Post by dammerel »

Hi all

i am trying to mesh a model but keep getting this error
SMESH Exception : "hypothesis does not exist"

Is there other modules that i need to install to be able to use the FEM WB?

correct me if i am wrong but i click on the model (in the tree) and then on the FEM menu select create FEM mesh
are they any tutorials and detail workflow instructions?

Ignore that button.

Use the new Mechanical Analysis button, Add material, add force, add constraints and run.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, ill keep playing with it until I get it right
Are the units in SI standards? I'm having troubles with steel material 20 gpa
Also selecting faces for forces is a bit tricky, thanks for the tip on meshing

I don't understand the units myself and i can't get it to produce correct results.

Applying forces is done by turning off the mesh (select and press space) then apply the force and constraint to the original shape, then turn the mesh back on.

I wish i had time to look at this but i have to many other projects and a new baby keeping me busy.

I hope this helped.
