When going into a new part, it would be nice to have default datums at XYZ 0
I tried to do one myself but it didn't seem to want to let me orient at 0.
In another CAD life I used them extensively.
I am really liking this program.

The origin Tab may bring the desired results, as well as the Plane tab: Object(s) Center Planes
Edit: As far as I know, the issue is resolved in FC0.17
Re: Default Datums
Thank you,
exactly what I was looking for.
I am running 17 with daily updates, but that tab is not there for me to pick. I will keep hunting.
What am I missing?

Re: Default Datums
You have to crate a new Part, then the datums come by default (although they are hidden in the beginning).RickW wrote: What am I missing?Rick
Re: Default Datums
I didn't realize it was a macro, after you pointed me in the right direction I found it, got it loaded, thank you.
That should be included in the base program, its a great one.

Re: Default Datums
No, because as atari wrote, in FreeCAD 0.17 Part Design now has native default and custom datum geometry, all parametric (which WorkFeatures aren't, as far as I know).RickW wrote:That should be included in the base program, its a great one.
