Re: Assembly3 preview
This is a very great and convenient improvment for Partdesign WB, thank you for this very very cool feature!realthunder wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:32 am Behold... the future is upon us. It's easier than I thought, should have done that earlier.
Did you achieve this thanks to your toponaming algorithm? I mean, does this improvement needs your toponaming algorithm?

Re: Assembly3 preview
This means that your assembly probably used some function or feature that is only available in my fork of FreeCAD.
That is indeed not trivial to implement. Have you seen any similar visual cue in other CAD? Maybe some video links.Subsidiary question: what do you think of what I had suggested a long time ago, but which obviously had not been completely understood:

Most likely it will land in 0.20.
Yes. It decodes the geometry sub-element name to find the generated faces.
Re: Assembly3 preview
I guess your toponaming algorithm involves so many possibilities to locate and "link" every element reliablyrealthunder wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:14 pm Yes. It decodes the geometry sub-element name to find the generated faces.
For exemple maybe it could be possible to locate constaints of distance in skeches then to import them in Techdraw, by selecting feature by feature and view by view.
But that's kind offtopic, I will ask his opinion to Wandererfan in Techraw subforum.

Here is a small video where I try to show how it works:realthunder wrote: ↑Tue Mar 17, 2020 10:14 pm Have you seen any similar visual cue in other CAD? Maybe some video links.

Hi
Did you see the challenge of @Kunda1?
this weekend I couldn't resist the urge to try this mechanism with Asm3 WB.
Here's what I get.
