Rowen, I thought I had added the FreeCAD file with the closet in my response above but I don't see it so I'm attaching it here.

Zolko wrote: Mon Feb 04, 2019 8:24 am There is a setting in FreeCAD about antialiasing, in Edit → Preferences → Display → Anti-Aliasing

please, use and abuse it, it really hurts the eye to see your screenshots, as if coming from Windows95

Zolko, Excellent advice. 1000% better image. Thanks.

@Zolko:

The anti aliasing needs a big time to calculate.

The better way is:
Take the Lines of everything to 1 point and take 'Line Smoothing'.

yes, but on my setup the result is not as good. Actually, if all lines could be created with 1px line-width ... is there a setting for it ?

nice ... and nice 3D machine you're building. You're a good client of Dold Mechantronic and Motedis I presume :-)

Old files you can change per hand at (in German) 'Eigenschaft'...
Create new files with the global pre-settings...

After you load the file with 'one-point-line' it comes with 'two-point-line'.
But when you save the file directly after loading it changes to 'one-point-line' ;)

Thanks for all the advice you have given. I am now trying to build the cupboard using A2plus. One thing I don't understand: How do I apply a constraint like the axis of the rail must be 1600mm from the floor of the cupboard? I can't see any constraints within A2plus that have a dimension property, like the ones in Sketcher. Where is the best documentation for A2plus?

Prior to trying A2plus, I had been trying to position all the parts using Transform, but again there didn't seem to be a way of specifying how far a point or edge or face was from another, so my model looks about right, but will not be precisely right.

I have attached a screen grab of my design so far, and my FC file.

Thanks - Rowan

Ok,

Here is my solution with A2+:
Hall_Cuppboard.zip
(326.17 KiB) Downloaded 65 times
In the ZIP are all the files and folders you need.
The sence after A2+ is to handle pieces, subassemblies, subsubassemblies and the master assembly.

In all the pieces-files should be the info sheet. In there you can take the infos of the piece listned in the sheet of master assembly.

I have build two subassemblies, the inner and the outer.
Now you can play with more innerversions...

I put some videos on YouTube that I hope will help visually. If nothing else they should help put you to sleep. Very basic how to open A2plus etc. I hope they help a little.
