FreeCAD A2+ part import flaw

Post by ljt123 »

Hopefully this is the right place to post this. I designed a fidget spinner off a youtube video I watched to familiarize myself with free cad. It involved making the bearing design, a pin design and body, all which had to be imported in to assembly (A2+). When I imported the bearings they lost all of their balls. What might the issue be, and how can I fix this?

Hi,
there was an issue with missing balls before A2plus version V0.4.7, recent version is V0.4.17
Which version of A2plus do you use ? (The version is shown on workbench selector button)

.
Please provide a test file, if the problem persists after update to recent version.

I did not follow the development of a2plus. Does this mean, an imported file can now contain more than one visible objects?
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

I'm using version 0.4.8. How can I update A2+ if it is not the most recent?

1) open the addon manager.
2) select A2plus entry
3) hit "Install/update" button.

Recent version is v0.4.17

Probably you have to open the document with the ball bearings and save it again. In next step open the main assembly and update the imported parts.
