Crowdin security issue

Post by chrisb »

Not sure if this belongs here, to compile/install or wiki.
I am registered at crowdin and I get mails with a link to http://translate.freecad.io/project/freecad. Following this link I get a
SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error. If I go directly to crowdin I get all FreeCAD strings not only those newly added.

Probably the freecad.io domain doesn't have an https certificate.
Maybe it's best to disable the translate.freecad.io shortcut on crowdin?

Do you have an extension like HTTPS Everywhere installed? If the link is http, it shouldn't be redirecting you to https. (It isn't for me.)

It redirects indeed to https. I will try to tweak my browser.

No success yet. Did you use the link I postetd above? To me it seems that the server performs the redirection.

Yes, when I click on it I get sent to an http page and don't see any certificate warning.

The contents seem to be the same as https://crowdin.com/project/freecad/de and http://translate.freecad.io/project/freecad/de#, so I found a way to participate.
I am surprised because I got e.g. a mail telling me that new strings are uploaded, but if I go to the linked pages (either one) it shows from Arch.ts to Web.ts that 100% are already translated and only approvement is not complete. Is approving the same as voting? And does it mean that I should vote for all of these translations?
