These properties are only available after slicing in the Data tab. They do not depend on the objects sliced.HarryGeier wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 11:39 am I am also waiting for someone to confirm that there is not parameter entry screen , so properties are only usable in Python or after slicing or intrinsic depending on the sobject to be sliced.

Re: Wrong WIKI content for PART > SLICE
That's totally understandable. But I'm too lazy to make a task dialog, where one would pick a mode. We can add more "Slice-to-..." commands for covering mode selection, but with 'Standard' mode, I don't know how to spell it. The difference 'Standard'-'Split' is subtle.
Selecting the mode for slice-apart is pointless, the other modes (especially 'Compsolid' one) only make sense when applied to the slice feature alone.
In spite of this 'Mode' selection, I'm starting to doubt if "Slice to compound" was a good name pick after all. But I wanted something to clear up, what exactly is the difference between Slice and Slice-apart.
Re: Wrong WIKI content for PART > SLICE
Usually what is called Slice to compound would be named simply Slice, and the initiated know that this slice is compound. Slice Apart takes this compound and performs additional operations on it.
I don't think we need more predefined slices, these two cover almost all requirements. For the rest we can use the Data tab.
I would vote for: Leave it as is and ask Kunda to add a dialog to his list of #lowhangingfruit.

Now, that all is clear, i will touch up the wiki page to reflect the status quo . If it once changes..the wiki is not hammered into stone too.

Thanks for taking care of that; makes my list one item shorter.

Re: Wrong WIKI content for PART > SLICE
Thanks, but this still does not addresses the issue I've mentioned in my previous reply...
As it happens, Part SliceApart was already created by DeepSOIC. The more I think about it, the more I think that the two separate pages should remain. Therefore, the added content pertaining to Slice Apart should be moved from Part Slice to Part SliceApart.

Okay,
i leave it in here for some time so it can be discussed. If it´s ok to go that way, i will take care of that split and also check the links you mentioned in your comment earlier.

Re: Wrong WIKI content for PART > SLICE
I changed both pages and hopefully the differences are clear.
Please review and correct as needed. Chrisb´s Tree was moved and one similar added for slice to compound..
One thing.. WIKI only mentions slice, the menu says slice to compound... should we take that into consideration , as it might confuse
