How to embed an external media into the wiki?

I want to add some of the Repology badges to the FreeCAD Wiki, but I can't. As this page explains, apparently the $wgAllowExternalImages needs to be enabled. I have no idea what it is and how it works. I would appreciate it if you could help me know.

P.S. I know I have to upload images here but then it will automatically update

You can only use images that have been uploaded to other wiki, but you are not creating a reference to a wiki
As for internal files, the syntax is
[[File:filename.svg|20px|link=]]
Example in https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Talk:Download

If you upload the image, it doesn't update automatically, so it's better to use a link to the page.
