[Solved]Suggestion for better wording of Help|About FreeCAD|Credits

Post by neildarlow »

Hi,

I noticed a recent commit which added labels to the Credits tab of the About dialog viz. People and Firms.

Might I suggest that a more universal labelling might be Individuals and Organisations respectively.

The reasoning for this being that "Firms" and "Organisations" are composed also of "People". Individual provides a more universal description of a single entity. Firms might imply a commercial business whereas Organisation could represent effort from a non-commercial entity e.g. Charity, not-for-profit funded entity etc.

Just my two cents, euros, pennies etc. but might be worthwhile considering.

ATB,
Neil Darlow

I'd be OK with that change.

Good idea - I went with "firms" because that was already in the old version, but it's certainly easy enough to change. For a tiny little dialog, the About screen has generated a lot of PRs recently!

ETA: I also need to expose those strings to translation...

And it should since it's the one of the most looked at dialogs!
Thanks for all your work and thanks for soon-to-be exposing said strings to translations.
