[In progress] About modules and workbenches in wiki.
What's the difference between modules and workbenches?

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Web_Workbench
What do modules? And what do Workbenches?
If everything translate as Worbenches? That it permissible or not?

Re: What's the difference between modules and workbenches?
It's the same thing. In the wiki the workbenches used to be modules, while we nowadays rather speak of workbenches. I guess it is for historical reasons. "Module" is more the technical notion, while "workbench" is the users view.

Ok. "Module" is programmist notion.
Then in wiki I will call everything modules as workbenches (In page title).

Let's wait before you start such a basic thing. Perhaps there are more opinions which should be heard.

@Evgeniy:
Are you talking about renaming the original pages or about the translation only?

I'm not in a hurry.
Programmers can use a term like "Workbench Part C++ Module" or "Workbench TechDraw Python Module".
But I think for ordinary users, for whom the wiki is mainly created, workbench is better suited.
I talking about translation and renaming orignal pages too, if that is possible (Perhaps this should be done so gradually).Roy_043 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 08, 2021 10:15 pm Related:

I Looked through the "Index menu" page. Didn't think there were so many pages named as a "module".

Re: What's the difference between modules and workbenches?
Please note that there are links which have to be maintained. Those inside of the wiki can perhaps be handled automatically, but for the links from the forum there should be a redirection.
Is it possible to install a generic redirection using a pattern?

Re: What's the difference between modules and workbenches?
Renaming the original pages should not be taken lightly. AFAIK there is not much in place in terms of automation. You even have to create the redirects manually (don't ask me why). But the main job is fixing the internal links. I estimate that it will take 3 to 6 hours for each page. And that does not include the work the translators will have to do. It is a big boring job that requires close attention, you can't simply replace each occurrence of "module" with "workbench".
Re: What's the difference between modules and workbenches?
Not good programmers as TechDraw is essentially a C++ module.
And programmers don't care about the standard naming. They use the most appropriate term in their context, and it's their daily pleasure that they can't be understood by normal users.
