my intention was to get "Sandbox:Rename m2wb tracking" deleted, noticed that it is still there
no worries, it can be deleted another time around.
I purposefully put it out of main namespace, and the only other reasonable choice was talk, noticed that the page was moved to main namespace - not my preference - but I can live with that..., the most important is the category.
my reasoning for not putting it in main namespace is for possible future scraping activities, since we do not have access to the source database - I see no other avenue than to scrape the wiki to get hold of the source text for pages, and then it helps to only have actual documentation pages in main, and that things not being actual sw docs is easy to discard based on "location rules".
on the sidebar, notice that early on this was a regular listing, and then sometime in 2015 it was reorganized to look like today, with the purpose that the sidebar would now behave localized, i.e. show the language one is looking at for "main view", that does not seem to work as it is today.
maybe there is a wiki-wiz out there that knows how to get that working, or if the whole wiki should be reorganized to lessen the burden of maintaining languages. took a brief look at the "classic" wikipedia, which handles languages in links like "wiki.fr.freecadweb.org/Atelier Part" for a link that in english would be "wiki.en.freecadweb.org/Part Workbench", in other words the base language link name does not seem to be visible anywhere, even when looking into source pages - in that sense it is much easier to understand what is what in terms of language on the freecad wiki - so for ease of editing I prefer the fc wiki.
as example, for the renaming activity, there really ought to be easy ways to automate that - but with the wild grown wiki that is there it feels a bit dangerous to go for automated workflows - so it would be great if for example links are only one style, making it easier to trust that automated link-hunting with find_replace actually works. aligning that on current wiki is a very large undertaking.
