Please read:

I am waiting for Fuzzy to complete step B. I have initiated the move ca. 9 hours ago now. Don't know what is causing the holdup.

I thought something was broken, but it turns out I have to be patient.

Thanks for the clarification. :geek:

on the note that several translations seems to point to english pages...

starting to think that this is why there are so many orphan pages, and that it can be hunted down from there.

suppose that is another possible thing for wiki housekeeping

If you are referring to translation units:
When a page is edited old translation units can become obsolete. But these are not removed. Otherwise you would not be able to restored a previous version of a page. But some of these units seem to be the result of user errors (f.e. unknowing editors who remove all translation tags).

Of course some translation units are very, very old. Keeping them serves no practical purpose. It would be interesting to look at that, hopefully with some automation.

I have now initiated the move for the 3rd time...

Sorry to ping you, but do you have any idea why moving this page (Part_Module -> Part_Workbench) is proving to be a problem?

EDIT: 48 hours and 4 attempts later it seems obvious that something is blocking the move. I have not other choice but to reinstate the old redirects. Which is dubious because they will definitely prevent the move.

not sure, but don't think so...
was looking at this: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Special:LonelyPages, which for whatever reason has orphan as link text but actual link is lonely

in that list there for example is [wiki]3D_input_devices/tr[/wiki], which does not have any links to it.
if you take the english version of that page, there are /tr links or translations linked to that,
so just thought that maybe some of these orphaned pages are actually translations that are not linked as they should be.

The Part Module page loads correctly now, but I can't fix the page title ... (first record to be translated)

https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... anguage=pl

a write error occurs

Each subsequent translation record can be edited and saved without any problem

can't imagine that there are external links out there, and if there is, I would say let it be broken - the worst thing that can happen is that they see the link "Raytracing" in the navigator anyways...

left nav.png
What the heck am i supposed to change in the sidebar so it doesn't use the Ray_Tracing_Workbench (which i just deleted the redirect for) https://wiki.freecadweb.org/index.php?t ... ki:Sidebar

Edit:
Mediaiwiki markup is so esoteric https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:I ... he_sidebar

Edit2:
this is the offensive line in question:

Code: Select all

** {{int:sidebar-raytracing-wb-target}}|sidebar-raytracing-wb
why is {{int:sidebar-raytracing-wb-target} referencing Ray Tracing Workbench and how do we change it?
