App::PropertyMaterial

Is anybody using this property type in a feature python object? If so, how?

I tried adding it as a property type in DynamicData workbench, but when creating this type nothing shows up in the data tab. App::PropertyMaterialList works at least to produce a property, but it is what I would expect a single Material object to look like as opposed to a list of such properties.
