[SOLVED partially with a workaround]DraftWB: cannot snap to grip over an existing object

Postby ragohix769 » Sun Sep 12, 2021 12:57 am

As in the object.
I cannot see the little dots of the snap to grid (snap to grid is of course enabled) if I try to draw over an existing object. It's like "always on top" it's enabled on the object covering snaps.

But if I make the object non selectable on the tree properties, then the snap it coming back working (little circles on the grid).

This is pretty much a known issue. If an objects is found under the cursor that object will have priority over snapping to the grid, even if no snap solution is found for the object, and even if Draft Grid Snap is the only active snap option.

The solution I use is to temporarily switch to Wireframe mode (Std DrawStyle).

Ok, thanks a lot Roy. I tried searching past issues on the forum for this or similar problems but not found the right keyword.
The workaround proposed it's ok, thank you!
