Alternatively, if somebody here is familiar with PyFlow and FreeCAD and is willing to give me a crash course on it (ideally including some code internals), I can help do the porting to FreeCAD...
https://github.com/microelly2/PyFlow, fork
https://github.com/microelly2/NodeEditor

https://github.com/wonderworks-software/PyFlow, original

Unfortunately, microelly2, the author of NodeEditor, is famous for writing a lot of code but not providing a lot of documentation. He documents his progress through videos, and in his personal website, but that's about it; if you want to really know how to use the tools, you have to do a lot of investigative work yourself.

node editor - pyflow

PyFlow is the general framework, which was forked and adapted by microelly to make it work with FreeCAD. I'm not sure if upstream PyFlow works in FreeCAD; if you try it, and doesn't work, try microelly's version.
