There is a strange effect on the current roof tool
According to this tutorial the sketcher base drawing should normaly generate a roof that is vertical upright in a normal direction
the 3rd picture shows the normal way that the roof should be generated by the sketch base, as show in the tutorial, but in this instance this roof is normally generated by the Draftwire base
the 2nd picture shows the same roof done with the sketcher, and it generated and inverted roof,
This is not in it self a bad option to generated a roof like shape upside down, but an addition optional option to control the Normal could be added if possible?
the 1st picture is from freecad 0.15, it seems even the older version has the same problem.

Re: Roof inverted from Sketcher base drawing
Probably the normal direction is wrongly estimated by the roof tool. Maybe the best way would be to do the same as other Arch tools, allow the user to fix the normal direction. I'll look into it.
Re: Roof inverted from Sketcher base drawing
Hi
I had the same problem.
It was using a rectangular scketch, but when using polylines (in counter clock wise disposition - didn't try another way?) the roof behavior is OK.
This was tested using regis explained technic for using sketches to constraint arch roof, wall, slab ,...
Cheers
