Crazy... I still cannot access that address directly, but using a proxy it worked :? Some blocking operation somewhere...

Anyway, this is one more very good example of what we should aim for with Rebars + TechDraw...

In concrete engineering the structure (lets say a beam) is calculated at the limit state.
In the tension zone the concrete is cracked, you will need special programms to simulate
the cracks with FEM.
I'm generally unfamiliar with FEM, apart from doing manual matrix calculations in college... but a little searching turned up this document:

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source ... 9O6Qo[url]

It's a pdf published in 2001 by the Washington Department of Transportation on doing reinforced concrete FEM modeling. They used ANSYS and described the modeling process for a few cases, focused primarily on fiber-reincorced composites (FRP).

I expect the problem is quite complex to solve, but seeing this made me think it's not unapproachable. I see that the key to some of this is being able to specify different materials in layers...

Anyway, I'm generally ignorant of FEM structural workflows, though I have a good understanding of the math that's involved. I'd happily start another thread for it, if it seems like a worthy topic for more discussion.

a much more simpler example in this regard can be found here: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 61#p135030

Rebar schedules would surely something very cool and would make FreeCAD useble for real reinforcement drawings.

Implementing that is definitely a good place to start.

I'm trying to create rebar schedule dialog(spreadsheet's like) using QTableWidget
Now, it cannot insert new rebar.
and Input rebar dialog has only 3 types.

1. Unzip RebarsSchedule_20180411.zip
2. open RebarScheduleSheet.py with FreeCAD
3. Ran macro.

It's not full function, for the first test.

Wow that looks very nice! These data could easily be obtained from the model I think...

@ Joel Graff:
Hi Joel,
I try to design the reinforcement of the rigid-frame-culvert below.
Picture taken from
http://www.bv.transports.gouv.qc.ca/mono/1165314.pdf
The culverts are prefabricated in a factory and then delivered to the construction site.
Is that right? If so, why not connect the V/U/H-rebars to get one rebar?
Whats the minimum concrete cover you must use in USA?
regards Thomas
