I do not know Revit :) Any reason not letting Stairs to help create opening on floors?
No reason if we can modify the shape of the hole after it's creation without breaking the relation,
And eventually disable it but keep the automatic calculation of floor height :)

'ArchStairs Profile' vs 'ArchStairs' ?

Original ArchStairs Tool - Pic 1
  1. Build a simple Flight from a Simple Line
  2. Currently do not build circular stair, curvilinear steps etc.
ArchStairs Profile - Pic 2 to 5 - Profile Generator Possibilities
  1. Now ArchStairs has an option to also build the Cross-Section Profile of the flight
  2. (Likewise, build the Steps, Riser, 'Multi-Segment Landing' etc.)
  3. Then, user can use e.g. resolve / sweep tool to do more fancy 3d compound shape
  4. Finally another ArchStairs Object to house all these shapes

Other Possibility Using the Generated Profile - Not Necessarily Stairs ?

Just use the generated Profile to do other Object... save time to build the profile

And if it generate a Sketch rather than a simple Part::Feature, user can edit the sketch to fine tune the profile to use.

Profile Generator (of ArchStairs) discussion at:-
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 91#p309591
You should not discuss this tool in that thread. Your discussion, adding many pictures, is obfuscating the conversation in that thread. That thread is more general, but you are talking a very specific tool. If you want to discuss the particular case of this stairs tool, it should be in this thread, which you can link to in the other thread. You are doing the opposite and just complicating the conversation for everybody.

@paullee i think our friend @vocx is asking to please be aware of what he's bringing to your attention. It's not a command, it's a request...right? ;)

Indeed this involves more general issue about renaming / separating tool and the specific ArchStair in ArchWB which works as an example to illustrate the possibilities and/or consideration - confusing enough for me also.

Anyhow, if there is comments on what is suggesting, please discuss. Hope some time would be invested to develop this further for more peoples who agree rather than people disagree.
