wall intersection 1

Postby geolux » Tue Apr 07, 2020 5:53 pm

Hello there
1° problem
when I change the alignment of the wall (from left to right) a part of it extend outside the main wall. This is correct if I means it like a generic volume but in case of wall this is wrong, because the walls are builded inside the main wall.
I'm doing a mistake? Is there an automatic correction of this issuse? To correct this speadly have I to use the bolean tool or other process?

2°problem
similar problem. Usually the constraction of a wall corner done like the image 2b and not like 2a.
In this case I have extend the wall (extending the baseline), then I make a new volume and then I use boolean tools to cut the excess part. Is it correct? is it the speedly way?

Thank you

My solution below :) @Carlopav would propose otherwise
  1. Merge all your 3 sketch into 1 (look into Sketch WB menu)
  2. Constraint the 3 edge, e.g. w/ dimensional constraints as shown
  3. Most important thing is have the 2 edges / walls w/ a L-Junction constrained by Coincidence - 2 points coincident w/ each other
  4. Select the Sketch and Click Wall, tweak the Thickness, Left Align as desired
  5. You may find 1 wall segment Align is not as you want, 2 options
    1. Flip the edge direction inside the Sketch - Start and End of edge reversed, that's it
    2. Or try OverrideAlign in Wall - see my previous posts or check my revised model to explain how to use it

well @paullee
but, is there an automatic tool in Sketch WB to Flip a line?
again ... and if I need different width for each wall?

One question @paullee
when your SketchArch project will be ready inside Arch Workbench?

  1. To flip a Sketch edge you need to do manually, maybe make a Macro
  2. Otherwise, you need to try below experimental tools which control individual Align / Width -

I hope I have the programming knowledge to do it but I am afraid I am far from it :)

Anyhow, I do it as a proof of concept and as far as I can 'control' my workflow and workaround problem I create for myself, I am using it at least in the Showcase models, Villa Savoye etc.
