no problems here with your file.
Hmmm...I test with your file on
- FreeCAD_0.19-21775-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage
- FreeCAD_0.19-21329-Linux-Conda_glibc2.12-x86_64.AppImage

and still can't get your result.

Can you post your ifcImport/ Export setting for reference.

BTW, I had no problem in export wall with subtraction in the Villa Savoye model... maybe need to test that model again ....

Thanks !

ping

if i take your file and copy the wall with part simple copy, i can create a correct ifc from it.
Thanks for testing.

But the issue is to use Arch Object such that IfcExport create IFC file with attributes built-in in the Arch Objects.

Part Objects won't have that information in 'BIM'

I know, but I would now like to offer my customers something to start with. in a second step, everything else like attributes etc. can be added at some point.

my customers often have to plan outdoor facilities by truck.
special software is used for this. here is a free option.
in our case, it could be used to check the position of the garage

Added some more wooden beams/columns.
Hard to find the exact geometry. I am wondering about the
static stabilty... :?
wood_structure_roof_columns.ifc
wood_structure.JPG
the big problem is, only the architecture drwings are open source not the manufactur drawings, neither of concrete, nor of wood nor of the mep. :cry:

we can use the photos as a basis, we can define everything that is missing.

It is built-in AppImage... I suspect it is something about IfcExport setting ?

Code: Select all

>>> import ifcopenshell
>>> ifcopenshell.version
'0.6.0b0'

once started with wrong work flows it is difficault to change them, thus +1 to paullee. At least the IfcObjectTyp and the material should be set for a Ifc export!!!

Thus Arch Component should be used, which is very easy in FreeCAD because anything could be a Arch Component. Just select the object and click on Arch structure.

Attributes and psets could be added at any time later on according BIM project standards.
