SOLVED : Techdraw from BIM

Post by Deffe »

HI,

Having a BIM model with different floors grouped into a Building object --> Works perfect.
Need to make a 2D drawing for printing on paper.
Method used:
- Start TechDraw workbench
- Insert a new default page
page and template are created
- Select one of the building floors/levels in the [Combo View - Model] tree
- Click the [Insert a View] button
The technical drawing of the floor is created.
Adapt the scale, so that it fits the paper size
Then I view that only the walls are showed in the drawing.
I expected to also get windows and doors and ... in the drawing as it was once explained in a tutorial by Yorik Van Havre.

What am I doing wrong or what do I forget to do?

Thanks for any hint.

I think is because the TD view takes the main object and shows it from the top view. So, embedded objects are hidden. Try Arch Section or in Property - Clip - Cut view for BuildingPart. To activate the section property of the container.

Hi,

The trick with "Hard Hidden" set to TRUE in the view works partially.

It shows windows and doors in walls but omits the settings like show door opening, ...

I'll see, search, how I can get everything from the 3D into the 2D TD view and post "if I have something to post" things here.

You can make section views also direct in Techdraw and add dimensions.
The hatches are generated automatically.
If You don`t want to have the hatches, then the best way is, what bitacovir decribed, as far as I understand...
Think I unstoud the main issue of your question wrong at the first approach
