To reproduce the issue please refer to the following:
  • Go preferences ==> Make your default current working plane "Top" refer to (refer to image 1). Restart FC.
  • Open the attached FC test file. Note that the FC menu bar showing working plane "Top" (refer to image 2)
  • Go to draw a rectangle ==> Menu ==> 2D Drafting ==> Rectangle.... whoops the working plan is changed to align to view (refer to image 3)
I expect to start on a "Top" working plane not on the other! (refer to image 4). Is this normal? Please comment.

I cannot reproduce this. Maybe there is an issue with your user.cfg file. After restarting please check the preferences to verify that the "Default working plane" is in fact set to the correct value.

Code: Select all

I deleted both (system.cfg & user.cfg) ==> Restart FC... No Luck still doing the same issue.
I hope somebody will be able to reproduce it on a different computer with Win 10.
Thanks

There is a related issue if you restart after removing user.cfg:
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 11#p513411

After removing the file you should again set the preference and restart. You also need to make sure that only a single instance of FreeCAD is active when you set a preference.
