Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
I propose to only use 12 volt dc in a tiny house. this saves energy and can be installed by anyone and there is no risk of electric shock.
In addition, the electrosmog is minimized.
here is an example with explanations

further suggestions for hot water, heating and additional power supply to the solar cells

Are you sure? As soon as you will need additional energy from the official 230V (or whatever) you will have to transform it with some energy loss.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Mon Aug 23, 2021 10:57 am I propose to only use 12 volt dc in a tiny house. this saves energy
Again, are you sure? You have much higher currents in these cases. In addition, the electrosmog is minimized.

Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
the proposal and the video refer to a house without 220 volts

Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
According to the link this holds for 230V / 50Hz as well, and they say nothing about voltage or current dependencies. As an extreme example: I have a point welder with very low voltage and very high current. If it is switched on, it will attract magnetic things up to a distance of 5cm or perhaps even 10. No such thing happens in the primary circuit, where of course (at least) the same electrical power is transported.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:34 am https://www.hamburg.de/emf-info/143502/faq/

Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
that's right. but if you e.g. compares the electrical smog that arises with a 5 watt led lamp with pure direct current operation compared to a voltage converter, which converts from 12 volts to 220 volts, the radiation of the line and the radiation of the transformer alternating current to direct current for the led lamp, it is a significant difference

According to the standard of building biology measurement technology (SBM), a constant electrical field of up to 500 V / m is considered a weak anomaly (V / m = electrical field strength in volts per meter)....
this also corresponds to my observations. i have been dealing with the topic for over 15 years

here are some suggestions for interior work.
In the toilet you can reuse the handwashed water for flushing

Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
on the subject of insulation and windows, dew point, etc. i have spoken to many people and read a lot. here the result:
Solid wood walls are offered with a guarantee of up to 50 years against mold growth. Single-pane wooden windows with condensation drainage prevent excessive moisture in the walls.
What is your opinion?

Re: Open source tiny house as a community project?
You need to explain those, not very energy efficient, choices. Solid wood is not a good insulation material. And single pane windows are quite uncomfortable. Even caravans have double glazing these days.

the walls are very thick. the costs for more heating with single-pane glazing are lower than the costs for mold. apart from damage to health caused by mold
