translation of the GUI stuck for Arch workbench

Post by david69 »

Like for Draft workbench

here are a list of commands or wording which are stuck for Arch workbench:

&Arch
&Arch/Utilities
&Arch/Structure tools
&Arch/Structure tools/Structure
&Arch/Structure tools/Structural System
&Arch/Structure tools/Multiple Structures
&Arch/Axis tools/Grid (I don"t find this word under Arch.ts)
&Arch/Panel tools
&Arch/Material tools
&Arch/Pipe tools
&Arch/Cut with a line

&Draft
&Draft/Creation
&Draft/Creation/Arc tools (I don"t find this word under Arch.ts, but I guess it is share with Draft workbench)
&Draft/Creation/Bezier tools (I don"t find this word under Arch.ts, but I guess it is share with Draft workbench, should be Bézier)
&Draft/Annotation
&Draft/Modification
&Draft/Modification/Array tools
&Draft/Modification/Array tools/Array
&Draft/Modification/Array tools/Polar array
&Draft/Modification/Array tools/Circular array
&Draft/Utilities
&Draft/Utilities/Added a new name group (this command is inside Draft.ts and not in Arch.ts)
&Draft/Utilities/Move to group (this command is inside Draft.ts and not in Arch.ts)

&Draft/Facebinder, Facebinder is not inside Arch.ts but in the Glossary.

the command "None" on the GUI itself is not translate too. it is for "Autogroup off". This command is shared by Arch and Draft workbenches.

Yorik and I discovered a problem with the updatets.py script, it was not recursing correctly: I think it’s going to fix a lot of these issues. Yorik is testing the change now.

Thanks for the list David. I have checked all items:

Most issues have already been addressed. See:
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/5301/files
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/5370/files
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/5371/files

&Arch/Structure tools/Structure
This does not seem to be a problem. Both the menu text and the tooltip are already translated (I have checked fr and pl).

&Draft/Facebinder
Idem.

&Arch/Cut with a line
This was missed.

"None" on the GUI itself is not translate
This was missed.

&Draft/Modification/Array tools/Array
I made a mistake with this one. I used "Draft_Array" as the context, but it should be "Draft_OrthoArray".

should be Bézier
OK.

I'll do a PR for the last 4 issues.

Thank you Chennes and Roy for your feedback/work.
&Arch/Structure tools/Structure
that one, I was not sure because in French, it is the same word. For sure, the two other commands below are not translate.
&Draft/Facebinder
it's well translate. My remark was more about the place to find the original text, under Glossary file. Is it normal?

That should be fixed with one of the mentioned PRs.

in the top menu, we have Arch and Draft.
the underlined letters are the shortcuts, right?
what happen to the shorcut if in a translation, we don't have the underlined letter in English? For example, in French, Draft would become Épure.

The character after & determines which key (combined with Alt) will open the menu.

Ideally using the same character for several menus should be avoided.

For example:

Switch to French
Switch to the Arch WB.
There are now 3 menu that use A as the "menu access key" (not sure if this is the correct term): Affichage, Arch and Aide.
To open the Aide menu you would have to use Alt+A 3 times.

I do not understand your question. Each language version is separate in this regard (I think).

For the French translation you might do this:
&Draft -> É&pure
This would mean that Alt+P can be used to open the menu if French is the language.
