pre-made components

Postby dustinSolar » Mon Oct 27, 2014 9:36 pm

hi guys! im totally new to freecad and trying to figure things out as best i can. im trying to design some solar heating system layouts for buildings and im wondering if there is a bank of pre-made parts like hot water tanks, pumps, solar collecters, etc. that i could use for making the plans? im also wondering if anyone puts the pluming systems in their achritectural plans using freecad and if so are there any tutorials on this? thanks

Hi dustinSolar and welcome !

There is one library made with/for FreeCAD, it's here : https://github.com/yorikvanhavre/FreeCAD-library
But i'm pretty sure that there is'nt part like you want.
However FreeCAD can import a lot of 3d cad formats so if you found part in grabcad or other resources you can import it and deal with it.
About pluming (plumbing?) there is'nt tutorial about that but the Part_Sweep tool will help you to projected profile along a path.
